A Chat with #DonnaZhong | Feat. The Spring ’19 Collection

Finally, we believe spring is coming! At least there has been some sunnier days here in New York City. Regardless, we know we cannot wait to take some winter layers off!

The latest pieces available to order right now are from our Spring 2019 collection. We’d like to take this opportunity to tell you more about the design concept behind this collection and why it is quite special to Donna.

Spring ‘19 continues Donna’s minimal design style, but a feminine touch has been incorporated into the pieces. The overall style has a romantic vibe. The pieces are versatile, like our previous collections, but introduces designs made with a mixture of different textures, such as sheer checkered silk cotton, hammer satin, and crinkled chiffon. The various materials together soften the entire collection.

“For someone like me, who really prefers black and white pieces and neutral tones, this collection means a lot to me because I stepped out of my comfort zone to include bolder colors and patterns,” Donna said.

Ultimately, Donna’s goal is to offer women the option of wearing something that is comfortable, yet chic and elegant. She imagines them wearing her pieces daydreaming in the city, or traveling to a place that allows them to feel carefree.

One of Donna’s favorite designs from Spring ’19 is the Two Ways Silk Cotton Check Dress. Wear it as a dress over swimwear or a slip dress or push up the sides to shorten the length and convert the piece into a top! Another design that Donna loves is the Hammer Satin Cropped Top and Skirt set. They look fabulous when worn as a set but the beauty of a set is the option of breaking them apart – we suggest you to style them with your pieces you already have in your closet, too.
